| Gay.com sucks! 2005-07-01 - 9:50 p.m. Well, today got off to a bad start. Nelson came home at 9:15 a.m., and woke me up; stating that we had another negative balance in our account, and didn't want to deposit any money until he spoke with me. The account was negative over $100.00, and needed immediate attention. I grabbed a quick shower, got dressed, and went to the bank, where they printed up a detailed list of transactions that had been made over the last week. And there it was. A charge from Gay.dot com. Then a refund. Then another charge. Then another refund. Then another charge. When all was said and done, the overdraft fees alone tallied up to $129.00. We spoke with a lovely bank employee, who very promptly refunded us our overdraft fees, bringing us into the pink once again. And since I had to work from 12 noon until 8 p.m., e.s.t., I was not able to call customer service at gay.com because their business hours start at 9 a.m. pacific time. (Which is noon, my time.) When I arrived home, I went online, and grabbed the toll-free number, and dialed a very obnoxious gentleman who insisted I was yelling at him. I didn't yell, but I was 'raised-tone assertive'. He cut me off at least five times while I tried to explain what the company had done to my bank account, and how they charged me even though I had subscribed to a two-week free trial that never happened. I finally shut him up long enough to get out what I had to say. And the little fuck didn't even explain how the charges occurred. Long story short, I won. He reversed the charges BACK into my account, and changed my credit card number to all 'zeros', so that the card won't be in their computer system anymore. And then -- the kicker. Even though I specifically stated that I didn't care for gay.com all that much, he gave me a free year of premium membership. Well, I suppose there's something there Anyway, it's fixed, the bank account is back to normal, and as is well in the world once again. I hope. --- It rained today. So much so, that a few roads have flooded in the area. There is still some lingering thunder and lightning, and as I just typed this, the rain has returned. I love it. It's now cooler, and the humidity has broken. --- Work was great today. Keoka (one of my co-workers, fairly new, lovely girl) was assigned to help me with deli-duty this evening, so it was the first night I was not alone. It was terrific, and much slower than I had expected. I also found out today that I'm on a seven-day stretch. Ouch. --- I guess I'm done for now. Thanks for listening, and have a terrific evening.
